Contemporary Metal Garden Sculpture - Imagine

Contemporary Metal Garden Sculpture - Imagine in collaboration with Anne Collins Warm Glass Art. The colour, vibrancy and texture of Anne's work dances with amazing light and passion.

Anne cuts and layers coloured Bullseye glass onto a round clear glass base, adding small pieces of dichroic and iridescent glass within the layers.  The glass is assembled and pieces are fired in a kiln for 18 hours to 820 C., when all the layers melt and fuse into each other.

When cool, the fused pieces are cleaned and placed back into the kiln over a mould and re-fired to a slightly lower temperature were the glass just gets soft enough to fall (slump) into the mould, which creates it shape.

After cooling holes were drilled into the glass, using a diamond core drill, to take the bolts that attach them to the sculpture
